Parents &

Caregivers

Raising children can be tough. If you have days when you feel like you have no idea what you’re doing, or what you’re doing isn’t enough, you are not alone. I will help you come up with new and different ways of doing things. I aim to support you in finding your amazing natural caregiving abilities while building your toolbox of proven strategies for those extra challenging moments.

As a parent or caregiver, you deserve a space where the time and attention is for YOU. You deserve a space to process your experiences and feelings that arise when caring for a child. By recharging and filling your cup up, you will be in a better place to support your child.

Together we will explore if parent coaching or counseling is a better fit for your current needs.

  • Parent/caregiver coaching is goal-oriented and collaborative. The focus is on developing effective techniques and strategies that you can use right away.

  • Counseling addresses deeper issues affecting parenting and caregiving. We explore how past experiences are imacting your current emotional well-being and caregiving. You receive therapeutic support to improve your well-being and family dynamics.

  • Primarily online. This tends to give adults more flexibility in their busy days! Limited in-person sessions are currently offered either in my home office or the comfort of your own home (limited to Pleasant Hill and nearby areas).

  • $170 per 50-minute session. Limited sliding scale spots are available.

Children

Children encounter challenges at every stage of development. Whether these difficulties are typical for their age or arise from unexpected stressors affecting the child or family, seeking counseling might be beneficial.

I embrace the essence of play as a means of communication and exploration for young children. By utilizing approaches such as play and art, we can enter the child's world to gain insights into their experiences, thoughts, and emotions. Recognizing that play is how young children learn, these methods provide a safe and engaging space for children to express themselves and make sense of their world. Through play and art, we can build rapport, foster trust, and effectively address the unique needs of young children, ultimately promoting their emotional well-being and growth.

For older kids, counseling may focus on developing coping skills, changing negative thinking patterns, and improving emotion regulation. They might also benefit from support in boosting confidence, enhancing executive functioning skills, or navigating relationships with family and friends.

  • Limited in-person sessions are currently offered in my home office or your home. Telehealth is a great available option for adolescents and teens!

  • $170 per 50-minute session. Limited sliding scale spots are available.

Autism

If you or your child has autism, chances are you know that finding mental health support with a therapist knowledgeable about autism is hard. I have worked with autistic individuals/people with autism for over a decade and understand the need for customized support. I will tailor my approach to your individual needs and preferences while continuously supporting your self-determination. Together we can explore your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors, or work on developing other skills and strategies. Our focus will be centered on what’s important to you.

  • Telehealth and limited in-person sessions are currently offered (e.g., my home office, your home). We will discuss what you will be most comfortable with.

  • $170 per 50-minute session. Limited sliding scale spots are available.

Groups & Clubs

Groups can offer a supportive environment where individuals can connect with others facing similar challenges. This can foster a sense of belonging and understanding. It provides opportunities for interpersonal learning, feedback, and validation, and helps to develop new perspectives and coping strategies. Groups promote empathy and mutual support and can lead to enhanced self-awareness and personal growth.

Groups are something that will be offered depending on interest. Here are some in development with TWO new groups starting in October!

  • Parenting & Caregiving

-Discussing specific topics and learning strategies that come in handy when raising a child

    Listening Partnerships

-Do you ever have a day when you feel like you just might burst, or that you’ve reached the limit of your patience with your child? Do you feel like you don’t have someone you can just vent to?

Listening partnerships in a group format includes a structured time where everyone has a turn to unload any emotional burdens and release any tensions. Everyone has the same amount of time to offload without judgement, interruption, or advice.

Releasing this buildup and feeling listened to will help refuel your parenting/caregiving energy.

Please fill out the interest form to let us know what group topics or themes interest you. If you would like to join a currently offered group, please fill out the form and I will contact you to schedule an intake (required before joining a group).
