Parents + Caregivers
Raising children can be tough. If you have days when you feel like you have no idea what you’re doing, or what you’re doing isn’t enough, you are not alone. Sometimes we need to put our parenting brains together to come up with new and different ways of doing things. I aim to support you in finding your amazing natural parenting abilities while building your toolbox of proven strategies for those extra challenging moments.
As a parent or caregiver, you deserve a space where the time and attention is for YOU. By recharging and filling your cup up, you will feel more able to fill up the cups of your children.
Families
We can work together to overcome old family dynamics and find ways to successfully blend differing parenting styles. A child (or children!) moving through various stages of child development can certainly keep you on your toes, not to mention ever changing sibling dynamics. We’ll work together to understand these changes, and then we can strategize how to best support your child where they are.
Our focus is on facilitating growth and connection within families. When family members feel a sense of connection, things tend to run quite a bit smoother and you may notice a decrease in stress.
Children
I embrace the essence of play as a means of communication and exploration for young children. By utilizing approaches such as play and art, we can enter the child's world to gain insights into their experiences, thoughts, and emotions. Recognizing that play is how young children learn, these methods provide a safe and engaging space for children to express themselves and make sense of their world. Through play and art, we can build rapport, foster trust, and effectively address the unique needs of young children, ultimately promoting their emotional well-being and growth.
"Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.” – Fred Rogers
Groups
Groups can offer a supportive environment where individuals can connect with others facing similar challenges which fosters a sense of belonging and understanding. It provides opportunities for interpersonal learning, feedback, and validation, helping to develop new perspectives and coping strategies. Groups promote empathy and mutual support, leading to enhanced self-awareness and personal growth.
Groups are something that will be offered depending on interest. Here are some we are hoping to offer:
Parenting Groups
A Space for Moms
Developmental Play Groups for toddlers and primary caregivers (for neurotypical and neurodiverse tots)
Clubs for early elementary school kiddos to work on social emotional and friendship skills
